Not a penny, it is still under the 3 months warranty from the dealer. Who was extremely helpful in sorting the problem, though they can't sort the rear door central locking or not locking as it is. It locks via the key, but not remotely. He can't get a signal/voltage reading at the tail gate connectors.

Make sure the cooling system is working well and decent throughflow to the radiator as you've not said what might have casued it (could be an old incident mind you). Glad its fixed OK

Is there an inherant cooling problem with Bongo's then? My old Renault Scenic Diesel (124,000 miles) never gave a moments problem with the cooling.

Coolant needs replacing and sysytem flushed every 2 years, system then needs to be bed correctly to avoid overheating problems, due to airlocks in system.

Cracked head (like yours was) on a Bongo seems to happen from an overheating episode, nearly always connectted with a problem in the cooling system. Old pin-pricked rad hoses, sludge blocked rads. etc. are the usual causing (oh and poor bleeding after refill - they have to be carefully bled to avoid airlocks). This is why we suggest you check it wasnt a colling system problem that caused the head problem.

Good luck
