Central locking problem

Post by Mikey B » Mon Mar 12, 2007 9:09 pm

Yesterday after a trip out in the Bongo the central locking went funny.
We got in the car OK, I lowered the drivers window made a bit of a noise then I couldnt open the drivers door. Everytime I lifted the button locking straight away.
I eventually held the button up and has worked fine since. Anybody else experienced this.

Central locking

Found the problem.

When the window was being opened the mechanism was getting caught on the central locking mechanism, therefore forcing the door to be permanently locked. Bent the bracket for the central locking slightly so that both pass without contact. Problem solved in about 10 mins.

Nice one <Mikey, read your first post and thought " never had that" but at least now if it happens the cure should be easy. See all these little facts could be material for a small handbook of quick and easy solutions. Happy motoring.
