Turbo charger suppliers anyone

Post by lazyb5 » Sun Aug 17, 2014 8:41 pm

Have finally got round to stripping bingo to see where my water leak was from. Trouble is in stripping everything off you get to have a good look at things, turbocharger has lateral movement to the point where the blades catch the housing. Does anyone know where I can get a new or reconditioned one near Peterborough.
Thanks all

Thanks Dave, I'll give him a ring tomorrow, I'm really wanting to buy new but a good second hand one would do then I could get mine re-conditioned.
Thanks again

Hi Simon, yeah saw that but that's a little over where I want to be, I'm hoping for a recon or service exchange, failing that I might have to bite the bullet. I think the injectors may cost me £150-200 so an expensive water leak this.

I think I would go for a used one from George (for example) with a warranty in case it happens to be a dud. The £325 one is probably a cheap Chinese part which may not be made to the same standards as an original. I would guess to get a reconditioned one you be looking somewhere around £250 - £300 and yours make not be in a serviceable condition to be taken as exchange.

Don't you mean you be on the blower about your blower?

Or is that slang for the phone forgotten now?

Well George it is for the turbo, arriving tomorrow, cheapest I could find was £250 for a recondition, or £420 for new . I can buy a seal and bearing kit and recon my own for £38. Injectors are at a little place in Peterborough, but it looks like £50 quid each.

My garage said that the bongo needs a new turbo today, and I am struggling to find a reconditioned one that looks like mine. I have an 02 2.5diesel. All the reconditioned turbos seem to have a wastegate actuator fitted horizontally. This seems to be the older style looking at lush. My current set up has the actuator running vertically (also verified this on lush) but I can’t find any like that on the web.

Turbo spec VJ290202
Serial number 27-458D
Parts number WLF8

The garage also said it would need a new heat deflector (the one that covers the turbo) - any idea where I can get one of those?

This is to solve a wastegate actuator code - they pressure tested the actuator and said it was shot but I wonder if the wastegate/intercooler bit is the broken bit not the whole turbo?
