Re: Sliding Door Motor Not Working

Have a similar problem, although not replaced the motor. Checked all contacts and fuses etc; very occasionally it comes back to life. I have now assumed it's a problem with the electrical loom in the door itself, but never got around the stripping things down to check.

Re: Coolant replacement query

Not for the feint-hearted!! Front and rear heater matrix's and meters of complex pipework. For a full coolant change, really need to back-flush the radiator and heater matrix's, ie by disconnecting inlet / outlets. If you are doing belts, you might want to order the pulleys or at least know where ...

Re: 2.5 turbo diesel starting issues

10v sounds way too low. Bongos have notoriously high parasitic drain on the battery. To test, if you disconnect the negative terminal, put a multi-meter on, then if a high value, start pulling fuses you should be able to find the problem circuit. Mines within limits, but battery will still get a bit ...

Re: Coolant change with bleed kit

I have looked at that kit, but am not confident it would clear an air-lock. Bleeding properly via see-saw is a pain, but is the safest bet in my opinion.

Have thought about buying the kit, installing, bleeding normally and then introducing a small amount of air via the top pressure hose that would ...

Re: V6 heating not working after garage work

Speak to the garage owner/manager, that's definitely not good advice from the mechanic. It's likely air-locked and needs fully bleeding.

If a diesel, I would definitely not drive it. Think the petrols are more forgiving, but it needs bleeding properly for sure.

Re: Starter battery drain - INJ 30A FUSE - HELP….

Drawing a dark current is a common problem on bongos.... usually something on interior circuits, cigar lighters, lights, door loom problems etc. Sounds like you have disconnected negative terminal and checked all those with a multimeter?

For some info. on fuses and circuits, try this link....

Re: Fridge not cooling

Try leaving it off for 24 hours - sounds like it may need defrosting (ie maybe ice blocking coils behind or the internal fridge vents). Also try pouring hot water down the internal fridge vent, if that fridge has one.

Search the fact sheets in the members area... this one gives the fuse box information.

Re: Electrics - Tap

Are you trying on 240v mains hook-up, or leisure battery... or both? Be SUPER careful around the distribution board if on hook-up. Treat it like the consumer unit in your house. The comments below are general....

There is a main fuse ~40A or a cut-off RCD + smaller rated MCB's in the distribution ...

Re: MOT

My MoT was similar - just a split CV boot to replace, so a bit of jacking and swinging on a breaker bar/getting hands dirty. Crawling around underneath is tiresome, but self-service everything apart from the timing belts , coolant system and gearbox etc, ie where a ramp and specialist garage + money ...

Re: Cabin fabric

No idea about that specific problem on a bongo, but its just a car headliner material. Contact adhesive is the usual way to install those items - you can get some spray-on stuff. Obviously, you'll have to remove some trim/edging around doors and sun-visors etc to get access behind it.

You really want to travel and see a bongo where the owner does not know if 2 or 4-wheel drive and looks like that underneath??

Re: No glow plug light

Think it would be super-unusual for the dash bulb to blow. Have you checked fuses and relays for the glow plug system?

In this summer weather, the beast will start without glowplugs for sure.

If you suspect the dash bulb, you could try running the diagnostics by pinning the ECU (carefully of ...

Re: Exhale noise coming from dashboard

Think you might have to be more specific.

If you were sat in traffic, could possibly be the scavenger fan kicking in as normal under the centre console/dash - that might potentially blow smells from leaking oil or coolant in the engine bay into the fresh air intake or, if seats are not down and ...

Re: Flashing Glow Plug Light - unable to diagnose

First step is to diagnose the problem. The members area gives details of how to connect into the ECU to trigger the diagnostic code sequence of the flashing glowplug dash warning light. It's easy, but be careful as the ECU is very expensive. The problem is unlikely to be the glow plugs themselves ...
