Re: How do I remove the aero stickers safely from the doors?

Hi guys,

I recently removed all my old cracked and discoloured stickers. I used a paint stripping heat gun, at a safe none paint melting distance. The stickers peeled off very easily, but left lots of glue residue. I used three ways of removing the glue, as it's extremely persistent. I initially ...

Re: RX8 Seats

Hi guys,

I've just fitted a pair of RX8 front seats and they look awesome and are really comfortable. The seats have grey alcantara centres with black lumber supports.

They weren't the too hard to fit, but you must be prepared to do some work and be handy with your tools. In a nut shell, you ...

Re: bottom hose cold, thermostat not opening

Hi the great pretender,

In the above image I can see you've fitted what looks like a float switch. What vehicle is it off, or is a universal one. Did you have issues with the baffles in the tank getting in the way?

Ash.

Re: bottom hose cold, thermostat not opening

Hi there guys,

As usual you haven't let me down. Nice to see a wealth of knowledge as appose to guess work. This is the second thermostat I've fitted, with this one being a genuine one, just to be extra safe. The post which details the guy checking 10 Bongo's and all bar one had cold bottom hoses ...

bottom hose cold, thermostat not opening

Hi guys,

I've got a 1995 2.5 TD (WL engine). I've put a new cylinder head, new rad, new thermostat, hoses, cam belt, engine / water temp sensors and fresh coolant in. The system has been successfully bled, the thermostat has been checked out of the vehicle and it opens at 83 degrees. Both heater ...

3way pipe on cylinder head

Hi there,

I'm fitting a new cylinder head to my 2.5Td WL bongo. The head has been provided with a new 2 way tap in style metal pipe which goes to the bleed hose and coolant pipe. My old head also had a two way pipe.

I've seen that some heads have the 3 way metal pipe. Does anyone know what the 3rd ...

Re: head torque settings

A big thanks to Supreme Being for his help.

I've found the torque setting. I called a garage that Specialises in Bongo repairs. They had all the tech info on a motor vehicle data base. So should be reliable. This is for the 2.5d engine.

The head torque is in three stages when using new stretch ...

Re: head torque settings

Thanks for your help guys. I've replaced absolutely everything in the coolant system. New silicone hoses, thermostat, pump, rad, head, matrix flushed. Hopefully nothing should be restricting the flow and all sensors / fans are working.

It's cost me just over £500, so although a workshop manual is ...

head torque settings

Hi fellow Bongo owners.

I've recently purchased a Bongo and the head has cracked. I've purchased a new head, radiator, hoses etc. I need to know the head bolt torque setting, including the two 10mm bolts in the head and the cam bearing cap torque setting? Further to this does anyone know the cold ...
