Re: Stalling Bongo 2.5td - Ideas please
All worth a go, having it looked at next week. The frustrating thing is that it's so intermittent, knowing when it's solved for sure is difficult.

Re: Stalling Bongo 2.5td - Ideas please
Thanks guys, since I'm not based near a really good specialist bongo mechanic (I don't think). The van is in Brighton/Lewes. I think it might be a good plan to get a recon one. Does seem that it's likely a fuel pump issue - as it sounds to my untrained ear, correct me if I'm wrong?

Re: Stalling Bongo 2.5td - Ideas please
what year is the bongo. ? early model has a throttle position sensor mounted on the top of the pump with 2 slotted screws that is adjustable, and a crankshaft sensor mounted low down at the front of the engine as mentioned in the thread, give it a clean up as it is in the firing line for road dirt ...

Re: Stalling Bongo 2.5td - Ideas please
Maybe, if the side seals were worn, other (internal) seals are also and it is this that is the problem. Try the cheaper options first before moving on to the expensive option![/quote]

Re: Stalling Bongo 2.5td - Ideas please
Thanks for that, annoyingly I'm away from the van for a week so will have to build up a list of things to try.
Frustratingly due to it being such an intermittent fault it'll take ages each time to work out if it's fixed!
Any other ideas greatly appreciated, will report back on all.

Re: Stalling Bongo 2.5td - Ideas please
Logged on here this morning to compose almost the exact same question as the OP. Whilst this has been really helpful, I am a total layman when it comes to engines etc so I'm not sure it 100% solves my problem.
My story is as follows. The symptoms are the same as the OP except for only ...

Re: Breakdown Cover
I was mainly worried about people not knowing how to deal with the mid engine etc. I have an opinion of the AA etc as being pretty useless when departing from standard cars.

Breakdown Cover
I'm sure this is a well trodden topic. But can anyone shed any light on the best breakdown cover for Bongos?
Thanks so much!

Re: Outback Conversion Problems
I can't find any levers or handles aside from the main central one.
I'd be really disappointed to have to Doctor the seats to make this work. Just seems crazy that they would do the conversion and not alter the seats to run both ways.

Re: Outback Conversion Problems
The conversion doesn't interfere with the runners so that's a positive.
It's a shame that there is no easy way to rotate them and still slide them. Basically have to retire the down bed as I need to use it for passengers more often than a bed. Sad times.

Re: Outback Conversion Problems
I have just removed the seats and turned them round to test this. I think you're right!
With the seats facing the rear they fold back and fit perfectly.
One new question. Do I have to take the runners out and reverse them in order to switch the slide mech? I really don't think I'll use the down ...
