Re: AFT roof seal
No I don't believe there is an identical seal on the market :-(
The one off my old roof is as below;

As you say there are others available but they all have a larger section outside the roof rather than the seal being inside alone.
I'm not sure if my current one is original ...

AFT roof seal
I need to remove the seal which is attached to the AFT roof and seals it to the top of the van, but my current one looks very old and brittle...Is there a bongo specific one that I can get to replace it? I've seen loads of different universal ones that will work, but none of them look anything like ...

Re: Gas bottle storage
Hi. How did you solve the ventilation and safety issue in that niche? I'm thinking about such an arrangement myself and looking for a reliable solution.
I am actively still looking in to this myself. I forgot to take measurements for a gas locker last time I was with my Bongo (currently being ...

Re: Gas bottle storage
Mine is the simple surface mount style, hole drilled thru flooring and chassis below and then two screws. Mine however is a side conversion with the gas bottle accessed via rear door into the offside side cupboard with its own door. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/KxMAAOSwtCJdJd4Y/s-l1600.webp

Re: Gas bottle storage
I would think there is more chance of the internal valve in the bottle leaking due to a bit of grit getting in with lots of connecting/unconnecting going on. On mine the bottle is screwed on once and the external valve shut-off is used to control flow so no parts of the gas flow piping are ever ...

Re: Solar panels
Did you ask this on FB recently? Sure I answered the same question recently!
Oh yes https://www.facebook.com/groups/2529055732/?multi_permalinks=10162766711980733
Yes I did :D Just getting as many links/ideas as possible, then I'll measure my roof again when I'm next with my Bongo (I took some ...

Re: Gas bottle storage
Where ever you end up putting the gas locker inside you need to install a drop-out vent, the gas being heavier sinks to the bottom and drops out of the vent to outside. See https://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&newwindow=1&safe=off&source=hp&q=gas+drop+out+vent
I had to do that on a previous ...

Gas bottle storage
Where does everybody store their gas bottles? I have a rear conversion with a fridge in the middle and a cupboard on either side...One side has small tanks for the fresh and waste water, then the other side has the electrics and the previous owner had a gas bottle plumbed in there as well but I'm ...

Solar panels
Next year I plan on going off-grid around Italy for 2 weeks, as well as some shorter off-grid trips around the UK. My first trip being next month. Luckily it is fairly local but apart from the few bits that the previous owner left in the van, it's not set up or ready to be used off-grid at all. I've ...

Re: Glow plug light flashing
Regarding the diagnostic port you did notice and read the warning that it is mounted upside down in the Bongo ?
Yes. I have had this problem previously when trying to find an ABS fault...When I first got the bongo it had an ABS light on, but everything I read online told me to connect the jumper ...

Re: Glow plug light flashing
Try what Geoff said. 🙂
That broken pipe is unlikely to cause the flashing light.
Common causes of the flashing light: Fuse number 1 (in the fuse box by the drivers knee) can fail.
If the auxiliary fan (scavenger fan) is running all the time, then the temperature sensor by the handbrake is ...

Re: Glow plug light flashing
As you disconnected the battery the ECU couldn't store any error codes to indicate that it had lost power, hence no codes to be read out :-)
If you take it for a run then the various parameters that need to be stored will be restored and on your next start you should be OK, unless there is another ...

Glow plug light flashing
I have a 1996 Mazda Bongo with the 2.5 diesel engine. It was last running a couple weeks ago, when it was parked up and the battery was disconnected while a lot of rust repairs were being done. No warning lights were on the dash. But now I have re-connected the battery I seem to have a flashing glow ...
