Re: CARAVAN INSURANCE ANYONE

Just renewed my 2003 senator Arizona for £66 with Frank Pickles. Its my third year with no claims and the premium has dropped every year. After seeing this post I decided to go online to get a quote, although I don't need to renew until August. I have always been satisfied with the service from Car...

Re: CARAVAN INSURANCE ANYONE

Have you tried Caravanguard, if not give them a go, tel. 0800 1488400 or 01422 396769, http://www.caravanguard.co.uk. They will even tell you the market value of your caravan and insure it accordingly. I have always found them easy to talk to and reasonably priced, about £90 for a 2002 Bailey 2 bert...

Re: Intermittent Starting Problem

Tessie post. When we carry out a service the battery is tested using a handheld device that employs an algorithm to indicate the condition of the battery, recharge ,bad and replace etc quick and simple. Our company hack is a KIa Sedona 2.8 diesel and it would on occasion refuse to start being our o...

Re: Intermittent Starting Problem

I had the non starting problem when I got my Bongo, just over seven years ago. Would start ok when cold, even if left standing for a few weeks, but then after running for a short time gave the impression of a flat battery :( . I did all the usual of checking and cleaning starter motor and battery co...

Re: Front crossmember

Had that exact same problem too, but yes there was a bit prying & levering getting done. just elongated the holes to persuade it to fit back on. had to make the same notches too. I reckon if doing it again I could knock off 2 hours. Hopefully you won't have to do it again, not on yours anyway :...

Re: Front crossmember

nth's post reminded me that I said I would try to take some photos as I did my cross member and post them on here #-o . I forgot about taking photos part way through the job so there should have been a few more of the middle part of the job, sorry about that  . They might be of some help to so...

Re: Front crossmember

nth, I am surprised you had so much trouble, especially that the A/C brackets were so far out. My new cross member fitted without too much messing about and certainly didn't make me feel that it would have been any easier to do by removing the radiator. Apart from the minor trimming here and there, ...

Re: I can't get insured for less than 1700£!!

You got me thinking Simon so I checked on their website. The cost of membership is £37 online or £43 for paper membership with a 5% discount off insurance premiums if taken out. Maybe the discount has been reduced from what it used to be. Unless you want to take advantage of the other benefits of be...

Re: I can't get insured for less than 1700£!!

Camping & Caravan Club are often competative for converted vans, might be worth the membership fee. Good luck. You don't have to be a member to insure with them, not sure whether membership reduces the premium or not but you are quite right about them being very competitive Bob.........in my ex...

Re: Front crossmember

I managed to remove the rusty old cross member today, the weather was finally kind enough, but it was a little bit more difficult than I had anticipated. Maybe it is just that I am getting older, more impatient, and grumpier #-o ......and it isn't a motorbike, but having said all that it still wasn'...

Re: Front crossmember

The Mazda original is not as expensive as I thought then but as I am local and was able to collect, saving the delivery charge, it cost me £43 less than a Mazda one. That's about 62% saving if I have done my sums correctly, it is a long time since I got my maths GCE  I don't know what grade of...

Re: Front crossmember

I picked one up from them in early December with the intention of fitting it for an imminent MOT, Unfortunately an argument with a fence panel while standing on a wall resulted in a broken elbow and broken ribs and has held the job up. I have got the front of the Bongo stripped off now ready to stri...
