Re: Tow ball mounted bike rack with tilt

Just thought I'd post an update on this. The Bak-Rak looks interesting but I prefer a wheel support rack rather than one that you hang the bike frame on. In the end we went for the Thule Velocompact 3 bike rack: https://www.thule.com/en-gb/gb/bike-rack/towbar-bike-racks/thule-velocompact-3-7-pin ...

Tow ball mounted bike rack with tilt

Hi Everyone - I've not posted here for a long time but hoping someone knows of the right product for us.
We would like a tow-ball mounted bike rack for 2 bikes that can be tilted enough that the tailgate will open. I've been on a few T5 forums  and it seems that most of the good quality bike ...

Re: Intermittent tap problem

Thanks for the replies. The tap does seem the most likely culprit. Oddly, it worked OK most of the time this weekend but if it gets worse again I'll replace the tap.
Cheers,
Shaun

Intermittent tap problem

We have a single Reich "De-Luxe" tap in the van with a Whale submersible pump. Recently, operation has become intermittent. We can hear the microswitch click as we turn the tap but the pump doesn't always operate. After trying a few times it then normally starts working again.

Any ideas whether the ...

Re: HELP: Confused over best DAB bluetooth car stereo to buy

When our stereo packed up last year, we just went into Halfords and bought the best single DIN unit they had which was this one (or very similar): http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/dab-car-stereos/kenwood-kdc-bt39dab-car-stereo-with-bluetooth-hands-free . It is DAB, has Bluetooth hands ...

Re: Propex Heatsource.

Our Eberspacher rarely starts when not on hookup due to this. I'm sure we could solve the problem with a bit of effort but it's just one of those things we've never got round to. On hookup it's never a problem and if we're camping without electricity then we just start the van engine to get the ...

Re: 12V impact wrenches & brake pads, roll bars etc

I would be surprised if that would deliver the required sustained torque to remove wheel nuts, ARB drop links, etc. Those cables look pretty flimsy and I can't see it drawing enough current at 12V to deliver much torque continuously. It might be OK but I have used a cheap battery powered impact ...

Re: V6 Towing Tyres

We recently fitted a set of Continental VancoContact 2 in 215/65 H 15 (same front and rear) and they are performing well. We have a rear conversion and tow our Caterham and carry a load of tools. I was looking for Vanco 2 but they weren't available in the correct size at the time so went for the ...

Too hot for fridge to work or battery depleted?

We spent the weekend at a very hot Gurston Down hillclimb in our Freda but by Saturday afternoon the fridge had stopped working (it's a small Waeco toploader - can't remember if it's a CB-36 or a CB-40).
Normally the battery (a recent Energy Bull 80 Ah) easily lasts for a weekend away so I'm ...

Re: ARB drop link question

I finally found time between rain showers to have a proper look yesterday. On pulling the drop link out of the ARB it was obvious that the hole in the ARB has worn - it was slightly ovalised - and that was what was allowing the drop link to move. For now I have put some loctite on the thread and ...

Re: ARB drop link question

Just measured the stems and they are M12 so looks like they are the correct spec.
Should there be some sort of bush in the ARB that the stem goes into?
If not I guess someone has enlarged the holes at some point or they have worn.

When the rain stops, I'll get out and measure the diameter of the drop link stems.

Re: ARB drop link question

Thanks for the reply. I will check the size. I did buy the drop links from Ian - they were the heavy duty ones. It didn't seem right that the hole was bigger than the drop link.

ARB drop link question

I had to replace these recently due to one being bent and the other having a perished dust cover but was surprised to find that the hole in the ARB was bigger than the "bolt" on the drop link. I carried on and tightened the nut as tight as I could. On a week long holiday to Skye, the suspension ...
