Good luck. If only I was younger and fitter, this sounds like quite an exciting challenge in its own way, especially with the reassurance of a complete kit from our Ian - a nice touch, as its the running around getting parts that always does my head in =D>

The one nasty thing I found when my head was replaced was the difference in shinyness between the block & the head.

I've spent over two years now trying to get them to match, poking holes in the rocker cover gasket seems to work alright.

Make sure there's moulded recesses in the cam cover bolt holes - otherwise you end up with oil leaks by overtightening it

Good point - there's on old thread on here somewhere about that (rocker cover, if you can still call them that) isn't there?

FanBloodyTastic Max - never heard a murmour out of you while job was in progress. Just to give cheer to others who might need to do it, how did you find it doing the job? How did you get on with flatting the block etc. etc.

You are now one of a very select Bongo Tribe minority who have DIYed their own head (kind of appropriate that maxheadroom should be one of them)
