Was some discussion a week or two about the very things, quite a few of us have got em now it seems, excellent car park bumper protectors too. Haven't got as far as cargo box yet but I was thinking along the same lines. haven't managed to bash my shins yet either

Here's a photo of the storage box we use. It's mounted on a "Bak Rak" which clamps onto the tow ball.
