Sump plug
Just done oil change and sump plug and washer look a little the worse for wear! Refitted this time but me thinks next time a new one needs to go back.
Anyone know part no. or a comptible replacement?

Ford ranger one from a ford dealer apparantly, will be checking this theory out in a week or two, will keep you informed , hopefully with a part number. Other option is to anneal it as mentioned a week or two ago on here somewhere. heat up to red hot with blowtorch & drop in cold water if i remember rightly?

Thats great for standard washers, The ones I use are crush washers, so that won't work. I don't know what the original washers are like as mine did not have a washer on it, when I did my first changemissfixit70 wrote:heat up to red hot with blowtorch & drop in cold water if i remember rightly?
Others are using PTFE tape with good effect.
This might give you an idea of size:-

You lot are very lucky. I cannot get the bloody plug out of the sump.
so no chance of a leak.
My previous oil changes are sucked (
) out of the dip stick hole. Some bloody mechanic possibly in Japan f**ked the plug up, i.e rounded the nut off so I have to sort someting out for the next service so I'm told.

Buy a new plug and get the old one off with a stillson wrench, but I presume you knew that already being a handyman.
