I'd love a set of red ones (& hoses) but as santa doesn't know where I live, it's gona have to wait on the ever expanding "I want" list
Still hopefull that the clear ones might prove feasable or maybe green

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

fair enough - - but - - I do not think that clear versions will be produced by any manufacturer anyway - too little demand and so not worth buying in the clear material whereas blue /red /black material probably bought in bulk - -and - - i'm not convinced that they would remain clear enough over a period of time for any meaningful fault diagnosis - then you are just left with the naff bit - - -and - - there will be no more probs anyway because the hoses will work as they should and not fall to bits-like the 10 year old rubber ones!

Re clear hoses:
Don't the rubber & silicone hoses have "ply threads" going through them like fibre glass?
Even though the individual threads are clear & transparent. As there are so many it diffracts the light & makes them look white/opaque. Even if clear silicone is used I think you would only see the ply. (Would be pretty though)

A very good point. My only experience of silicone tubing is model aeroplane fuel tubing. That is opaque but not so much that you can't see a fuel / air meniscus in the tube. It doesnt seem to stain or discolour. If car coolant hosing has a lot of reinforcement in it then I guess it maay block any sight of coolant even if you could get unpigmented tubing.tonygadget wrote:Re clear hoses:

But my original proposition was only hypothetical. I think its v unlikely you could get 'see through' tubing. But it's always worth throwing hte question out. Sometimes, something actually comes out of it.
I quite like the idea of blue for cold side of system, red for hot. Is it possible to split Bongo hoses into the 2 categories like that though
