EGR Removal
I've read everything I think I need to know about the EGR system and decided Im going to remove the whole thing. Can someone tell me where I can obtain the kit of blanks and the blank for the exhaust? I believe the name I need is Nick Skidmore. Anyone help further

Not sure if he's making the kits anymore or if he's still about on the forum, but it's worth a try, very satisfying to remove all that useless pipework
. I think a few people have done the job by cutting off & welding up the 36mm threaded connection on the turbo. If you have a hunt around on the old threads you may find what thread size it is & be able to make or get a plug made up if Nick isn't doing them anymore. The other option is the Allans kit which i think allows partial removal?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Re: EGR Removal
after my beloved failed to start monday morning, ordered glowplugs(£28 ebay) and blanking plates (£12 allens) fitted tuesday night, like a new vehicle ,started on the button with no smoke, money well spent, hopefully save some money on fuel too, three hours to fit,but beware to be careful removing small black pipe (bellow green valve ) on large air intake pipe ,i wasnt and snappped the bugger (its very brittle ! ) and had to resort to the dreaded super gloop but ok up to now...... pps to undoo one of the twelve mill bolts to fit egr plates i removed plate at the rear of the engine compartment made things a lot easier.
