Blue Beep Box - wiring colour info needed

Post by DaveJaVu » Tue Dec 09, 2008 4:36 pm

Reeeeeeealy want to get rid of those $&*@#?! beeps...

Watched the vid, but the connector to my blue box is stuck very very tight (yes, I did push in the clips  )

Does anyone have a wiring guide or know which colour wire relates to which circuits?

If I can kill the key beeps I can live with the rest!

Cheers folks,

Dave.

The key beep can be disarmed by removing the steering cowl.....3 screws? if I remember rightly and there is a white connector that comes from the ignition key barrel........disconnect and voila..........no key beeps, the rest are still operative... \:D/

Hi Dave

Yes the white wire from the switch on the back of the ignition switch is the feed to the Blue buzzer box for "you have left the key in"

but the othes are
Red/yelow wire at the blue buzzer box is the "I'm reversing" buzzer - this is in the centre on the opposite side to the connector latch. This wire is live when in reverse so insulate it if you remove / cut it.

Red/white wire on the connector next to the connector latch is the "I've opened my door" which works in conjunction with the red/black wire in the opposite corner of the connector that is the "i've got my lights on" signal
The latter i have kept as being useful.

These are the colours for the early models - I think they are the same for later models.

Hi Guys,

Proper Job - no beeps! =D> =D> =D>

It was a fiddly bugger of a job - all my connectors seem to be VERY well connected (which is no bad thing overall I guess!) and even when I removed the 3 cowling screws I found that the cowling still refused to separate into two bits so had to sort of fiddle it around until I could get a proper hold on the block.

Sorted now. :D

Many thanks,

Dave.

Next time just drop the steering column adjuster lever and get to the white wire from there

That's what stopped me. Didn't want to risk breaking the cowling

Just thought i'd ad to this... The beeping was getting on my partners nerves.. (though i didn't mind.) I tried disconnecting the white block in the cowl, but only found the reverse beep (Which i thought is a good feature to have on all the time.) only worked with the lights on!

So i cut the Red/white wire on the connector to the beep box only.. Fitted a small square latching switch in line, & put the switch in a handy space next to the cab fuse box under the panel...

I can now go into quiet camper mode, O:) silencing the key & lights left on beep at the push of a button & keeping the reverse thing full time!! :D
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
