Erection problem

Sunday was a beautiful crisp sunny day.

this prompted me to erect the AFT Roof to give it an airing

Whilst pressing the raise button it was beeping as normal but stopped short of its usual once proud erection .
Despite lowering and raising again I could not get the roof fully erect.
I was tempted to try the last few inches manually but last year after i forced it I couldn't get it down after doing this .
The motor seemed to stop short this time
Is this an electrical problem or a lubrication problem or is there anything else i could try

Give all the moving bits & rams etc a good lubing, white grease seems to do the job ok, that should sort it.

I take it the engine was running? seems to help it give that last bit of oomph.

Only attempt a further erection with your motor turned on.

On the ODD occasion i have had this occur, i pressed the button with one hand (well, finger), whilst applying a SLIGHT upward pressure with my other hand to the underside of the freetop,on that ODD occasion i had to carry out such a procedure, i knew i had to "re-lube" the rams, runners etc with my spray on PTFE white lithium grease...

A good lubing to my ram every now and again has minimised any subsequent erection problems.

I've got the same problem with my roof. Took it in to Discount Trucks a couple of weeks ago to be lubed, but its still no better. Once I shake off this cold it'll have to go back again.

Could just be the tent material was a little inflexible, due to the cold. This could be one of those occasions when it goes up better when it's floppy

May be worth unzipping the tent fully, just to see if it goes up any easier, based on John's theory.
Regassing the struts has been mentioned before with similar problems, this may help that last few inches if lubing doesn't?

I'll give it a good lubing first before i attempt my next erection on a sunny dry day .
This time i will find a discreet place to attempt full erection
I could see all the neighbours laughing at my failed erection last time

In which case it may be worth attempting your next erection with your "tent zipped"

Hi
White spray grease on every moving part, and silicon on the rams....do it 3-4 times a year.
