PatnBen have a great idea.
What about utilising the roof-rack holes and making some shallow skids to push the offending height barrier out of the way, there would have to be a bit of an overhang at the back to prevent the barrier from swinging into the rear of the Bong.

I like that! Guess we'll never be inventors though! Techni stuff is way over my head, but fun to ponder over! I've decided hydraulic wheels are the only answer
