Thanks Jamie - I may just bring a freshwater rod instead - there's a lake on site, providing they don't have a closed season.

I might bring a rod to Mablethorpe but, if it's like Cleethorpes, the tide goes out for a heck of a long way and it's not worth even trying

We haven't done any sea fishing for many years and then Jimmy had a boat, but my brother does. He also does fresh water fishing .

Do we actually know who's coming? (to Mablethorpe scanner

) - there's been so much activity on this thread, I can't be bothered to search back through everything

  - seems like a good turnout though

I am looking at coming over for the day (Saturday) but does anyone know the best way to do it? Would come over for the whole weekend however I am flying gliders on Sunday near Peterborough. Can you buy a day pass from Haven camp and park near you chaps?

Don't know if they do day passes or not - give them a ring on 0871 231 0884.
It largely depends what time you're flying on Sunday. Mablethorpe is only about 70 miles from Peterborough, via Spalding, so a couple of hours drive maximum. We're having a get together on the Saturday night, so should be a good night

Hi Simon,
I have just had a call from Haven. Whilst on the phone, I asked about day visits. They said there is no problem, but if you want to use any of the facilities, go to the office and they will give you a pass for about £3. they could also arrange a 1 night stay .See you there
