Is it just there as you are turning the steering wheel (possibly steering fluid low?), or is it the whole time the wheels are in the turned position?
First thing I'd check is the various mud flap jobbies that are lurking around in the wheel arch, I used to get a horrendous noise in reverse on full lock from the passenger side wheel, turned out it was picking up the edge of the mud flad & acting like a spokeydokey
Have you got 4wd? if so be worth checking the cv boots/joints

I'm no expert either but could it not be your cv joint? I would check it's not coming from the passenger seat first ;)

Hi
It's always a bit difficult to describe a noise, but my money is on the power steering pump...mine makes a noise in the mornings occasionally.

Also check if the brake pads are rubbing slightly.
