I'm very interested in trying this as I have very similar symptoms as you.....do you just add it to the coolant? It sounds like it worked for you...definitely worth a punt. Where did you buy it from?If anyone suffers the news of a head gasket, cylinder head leak,or any overheating problems at all, please try Steel Seal before you do anything else. For 30 quid, its got to be worth a try. I'm convinced, and if it saves 1500 quid on a head gasket repair, its got to be the way forward.
Hi, since this post over a year ago I tried the steel seal. It worked for me until after checking the coolant level one morning I forgot to put the header tank cap back on and it all spewed out and overheated again.bikemunky wrote:Sorry Aunt Trumpet, been offline for a looooooong time. I bought my steel seal from a motor factors shop in Bedworth, Warwickshire. You can get it online from their website, just stick Stel Seal in your browser. I'm still motoring happily bt the way, with no probs.
That's the problem isn't it. We've had a case on here recently of a Bongo sold to a trusting new owner and which quickly developed a cracked head despite 'no previous problems'. Bearing in mind who buys Bongos and why, I wouldn't want it on my conscience that I passed off my troubles to some other innocent party who was no better off than me.dandywarhol wrote:Note to self - don't buy a Bongo from slow_n_low or anybody else bodging the job
