Re: head gasket
Hi Bongoburt, sorry to here of your troubles
, if only to get you back on the road this side of christmas it might be worth the 30 quid or so and give steel seal a try
its worked for others on this forum and who knows it might be a more permanent fix than you think
. Worth reading the link thoroughly from kirsty me thinks

Re: head gasket
You can add my Freda to the list losing coolant. A couple of months ago I had a pinhole leak that went undetected and the engine boiled over. I thought I got away with it but since I have had a small amount of coolant loss (about 2 to 3 litres in the last 1000 miles).
There is no white smoke at all so not sure if it is head gasket / cracked head - how much water loss is required to create white smoke?
Recently it has been very lumpy on startup is this indicative of anything or is it down to the sub-zero conditions. I’m hoping it is another as yet undetected leak. Over Christmas I will have time to get it on the ramps to see if I can find one. Are there any places that are more likely to leak than others. Thanks A-F

Re: head gasket
engine top hose...followed by others
bleedhose
hose to rear heater passes over starter motor
are most common fails
steel pipes from rad to block can also leak
