Hi folks, need some help locating a bodyshop around my area,or few miles away. The small weld seam on the front wing of the bongo is starting to rust,I saw a thread on the forum where the same happened to a members bongo and he got the rusty bit cut out and a patch

Re: bodywork
It's a bit of a jumping through hoops exercise to start with, but once you are set up it's pretty simple.

Worth the pain though - we all want to see photos of everything!! (even rust)

Re: bodywork
I think you look for the coding or code list for the photo and paste that code on here. For photobucket, I think you copy the last code in the list?
Also, you could go on the forum for your area (Staffordshire) and ask for a bodyshop recommendation on there, someone with local knowledge may know a shop that will take on this job.

Click on the thumbnail in Photobucket and a new page will come up with a larger picture and a list of 4 items under the heading "Share this image" - click on the bottom one (Img code) to copy it, then paste into the forum - see a photo of DBO below
Make sure you resize it to no more than 640x480 before posting.

Re: bodywork
Ahhh.. OK, I can see where you mean now.
To be honest, that doesn't really warrant welding, unless the rot behind the wing is much worse than what you can see from the outside. I'd unbolt the wing, sand it back to bare metal, treat any rust with "Kurust" or similar, then repaint the area with primer and top coat / lacquer etc. And then do the same to the tail end of the wing.
Paint the area where the wing meets the body with waxoyl before fitting the wing, and clean up any visible from the outside.

Re: bodywork
That rusty seam is not part of a weld then?So if the wing was unbolted it comes in two parts
at this point where the rust is.

As far as I can see, it is in 2 parts.
Not dismantled it myself though - no doubt someone who has will be along in a bit!!
