No Heat in Heater

Post by croylo » Fri Mar 05, 2010 8:06 pm

Finally got round to fixing the heater now it is blowing but not hot, my coolant system I think is fine as I have been driving this every day for years with no noticable problems. Is there anything specific you have to connect up regarding the heater.

Assuming your coolant is ok [-o< check the flap/changeover linkages are ok, this should point you in the right direction - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 43&t=28727
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Kirsty it was your information that gave me the confidence to do the job. Turned out it just needed a proper run and the heater now works for the first time in ages. In my other bongo heater I found a carrier bag that wasnt helping. and the brushes and inner workings were very rusty and broken, sent them away to this company http://www.solenttools.co.uk/ who are replacing the brushes I will let you know how this pans out.
I've been reading this forum now for nearly six years and you are one of the reasons it is still the essential tool for any bongo owner. =D> =D>

I'm just here to annoy people   Glad it helped, keep us posted on t'other one, may be handy to know where to get the brushes easily.
Do I take it you've got 2 bongos or am I just getting confused?

Hi Kirsty

Yep I've got two old n reg manuals 2.5 diesel , one 4x4 the other not. The 4x4 has a winter pack and is badly bitten by the rust but it runs well. It is also well handy for swapping parts round to see what works and what doesn't.

Cheers

Solent Tools 023 8057 8057 have fixed the brushes for me at £14.99. will wait and see but it seems very good service with a turnaround of three days and not unreasonable cost.

Not bad at all, better than £150 for a new one  I take it the postage was on top of that? not a bad turn around time either =D>
