Fuel gauge not working - HELP!
Hi Folks
As a Newbie AND un-familiar with technical terms
I would very much appreciate a 'Jane & John' approach to how to FIND where these cables/connectors are situated in our Ford Freda. We've JUST had a conversion done and new flooring ... I DO NOT know how to get to the panel behind the driver's seat or where it is ............ Jeeeeezzz!

Well .............. THAT'S a good start! Many thanks for responding to my question. We're off abroad in April to France/Northern Spain for 6 - 8 weeks. Suppose a trip to a mechanic is on the books!

Or you could drop the fuel tank, only 2 straps holding it in place - http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html
Not sure if earthing the wire further up the line might work?

Re: Fuel gauge not working - HELP!
Could the problem has been caused when the conversion was fitted, by perhaps disturbing the wiring? It may be worth asking the convertor if they would assist you to gain access to the top of the tank.

Hi happycampers, sorry to hear of your problem. At least by starting with a full tank, and filling up every 200 miles or so it wont stop you using the Freda,
Simon's suggestion is a good one, but KIrsty has been very helpful too.

All the people offering help do so freely, but what you have is a fairly unusual situation, so your plea for step by step pictures is unlikely to be met, over and above what has already been given to you, possibly without you even searching for it yourself?
Also, if you get nowhere with the convertor, it might be worth you understanding the diagrams by finding something you can see easily, and working out what they mean.
All else failing, you may have to use a Bongo friendly garage.
You have a lot of 'Bongo learning' to do, as we all had, it really is worthwhile you spending some time finding out where to find info via the Fact sheets and on the Forum, it will pay dividends for you.

Re: Fuel gauge not working - HELP!
My thoughts exactly. Its a bit of a coincidence that the two happened close together. If only the converter had taken the simple precaution of renovating the fuel gauge sender connection before doing the buildSimon Jones wrote:Could the problem has been caused when the conversion was fitted, by perhaps disturbing the wiring? Re: Fuel gauge not working - HELP!
THANK YOU to everyone who so kindly replied to my plea
Have now booked it into a local garage as the people who did the conversion said that the fuel gauge not working would not have been anything they did ... Hmmm
Will see what they local guys say as to what's gone wrong - booked in for April 8th. Will let you all know what they find. Happy Easter to you all.

Re: Fuel gauge not working - HELP!
May be an idea to print off the info you've been given, so it may make the job easier for them & therefore cheaper for you?
