Why is mains connection to Zig CF8 cut?

Post by silverdaleclaret » Tue Mar 30, 2010 6:23 pm

My ZIG CF8 has a 3 core mains lead comming out of it but this has been disconnected from the external 240v hook up socket by a previous owner. Connecting a hook up cable obviously now does not charge the leisure battery.
Why would this have been done?
What problems might I have if I have it reconnected?
Thanks for any replies I might get.

possibly the transformer was faulty on the unit and was disconnected out.
possible problems might be an empty burning shell of a bongo if it catches fire with an electrical fault.

Thanks for your help, the vision of a burning empty shell confirms my fears that expert help is indeed requied.

If you reconnected the power & turn the mains switch on, it should light up with an orange neon bulb. That would at least establish that power was getting in ok, even if the transformer is faulty. Zig units are very basic inside & it would be quite easy to repair.
