Problems relocating Inverter
Actually disconnecting and removing the inverter was a doddle. The problem arose when i realised the main battery has piddly little thin bolts on the Battery terminals and the leisure battery has great big fat ones. Figured i will go tomorrow and purchase some ends for the inverter cables. Couldn't resist the temptation to test it though. On the negative side the LB Earth cable is held in the terminal by 2 screws so i undid one of these and fitted the Inverter negative, that was fine. On the positive side of the LB the Positive cable is attached via a crimped end over a stud on the terminal with a nut to hold it down. Obviously my Inverter cable wont fit over this stud so i tried to trap it beneath the LB's own cable. Tightened the nut and snapped the stud. Now i will need to get a new terminal from Halfords tomorrow with the same set up and get 2 proper ends for the Inverter.
Halfords have got a lovely terminal there with a wing nut that will do the job just nicely but will these terminals here do the trick. If i zoom in i can see an 8 on there so possibly 8mm hole maybe, Is that big enough?

Are these crimped or soldered, or a bit of both for security?
I also noticed that now my LB is disconnected, the central locking is not working. Not really a problem though i was wondering if anything else will be disabled other than the stuff i know is plugged into the LB(lights,radio,ciggy lighter, blinds)
Will i be ok to drive it?

Tony, if you have the standard leisure battery patch of lights, blinds etc, I think you may also find that the indicators are on the same circuit - otherwise everything else should be OK. However, if you have 'patched' them in then you can just unplug the patch leads and put the 4 original fuses in to temporarily return to normal.

i wouldnt pay more than 15p each at the wholesalers

Cheaper here, but postage is only free if you go over £8. Got a few switches, fuses, terminals, cable, etc from them recently.

thanks for that. Think I will use them as I will be needing to sort an online fuse as well. There is a 30a fuse in line but I think someone has used yellow crimp spade ends soldered on to the cable. What cable are you using? These will probably fit, but buying in bulk the cost does add up. Add in the fact that you should use a 'proper' crimping tool like this, especially with the bigger crimps, rather than one of these.
I've used this cable with these crimps and these fuse holders, fitted with these 50A fuses for my feed from the L/B to the rear conversion. Used these crimps for connecting to the battery clamps. Also used for the feed from my built-in charger to my conversion electrical distribution. The 50A fuses located at all power sources. All ring ends soldered on (you need a blowtorch) and then heatshrink applied.
Female spade crimps soldered to the cable isn't a no-no in its own right, but if they are on there to connect to a 30A fuse in something like this then make sure that there are no bare conductive bits showing - i.e. if it's soldered on, has the insulation been melted away?

ive managed to melt one of those fuse holders when using the inverter on ours. mind you that was powering a 750w george foreman.

Ooer. That's not good news.
What size of fuse did you have, which obviously didn't blow, when it melted?
I have 2 of these on my Willinton kit, and 2 on the line from Charger to L/B, all with 50A fuses.....
Presumably, powering 750W from 12v means 62.5A, plus a bit for efficiency losses, so about 70A?

Right lads, just where i am up to then.
I worked out that the cable from the iverter is 10mm2
I liked the look of the strip fuses
The strip fuses have 5mm studs
What size fuse would you recommend, the inverter is 500w?
Does the inverter negative need to go to the battery or would a suitable eathing point be just as good?
I will buy

The PMS3H will suppluy both batteries, i have ordered 10m of 3mm flat twin cable for that. I assume the yellow crimps that i have are suitable for that. Do i need a fuse inline as this is no problems as i have inlines left over from the Leisure battery fitting. What rating of fuse?
Where this wire attaches to the Main battery will not be a problem as the studs on the battery terminals are tiny but on the Leisure battery the studs are 8mm. The yellow crimps i have do not go up that large so would it be ok to piggy back on the Inline strip fuse for the Inverter?
I know i am leaning on you guys alot but i appreciate it and don't want to nause this up.

Hi DB can you expand on this please 3mm unusual size and are you talking domestic flat twin if so not recomended for auto wiring
