Changing Headlights for Continental use.....
Hi! I am currently going through the process of registering my Bongo in France and I am trying to find suitable LHD headlamps. I have read the posts on continental headlamps, but was wondering if anyone has any practical experience of actually fitting non Bongo headlamps to their pride and joy!
Any help greatly appreciated....

Re: Changing Headlights for Continental use.....
Hi, someone definitely found headlamps from something that fit, well worth a search.
I've got a feeling the Bongo can't pass the French equivalent of the MOT due to the rear sliding door being on the 'Wrong' side, well worth checking this before you go too far.
Good luck.

Possibly problamatic.
There have been threads on here in the past regarding the French Reg hassle.
It seems impossible as the sliding door opens on the wrong side.

Headlights are adaptable from something else - Helen has the know on that but there ain't no Bongos with a French reg so far . . . .

Have been assured by French registration authority, DRIRE that the door issue is not a problem. If we can sort the headlights, the worst that would then need to happen would be the equivalent of an SVA, so will continue the quest for the elusive lamps!
Thanks for any help given......

There was a post not long ago about this problem. It seems that the Russians have sussed it. PM DemonAV to inquire how they do it if you need more information.

Interesting if the rules have changed regarding the side door. There were a couple of posts about this a year or two ago

Re: Changing Headlights for Continental use.....
Try these people in Spain, they have quoted me €250 to convert headlamps on my '96 V6 aft. The job would take 1 working day and they would need about 3 working days notice to get the parts in.
They also do re-registration onto Spanish plates. Would this be an option and use the vehicle in France?
