Now I have always suspected a blockage or restriction in the front heater matrix as after all those replaced hoses and re-bleeds there surely has to be at least a blast of hot air during bleeding.
Lo and behold! The other day I was in the supermarket car park driving along and I did my habitual......lets see if the heaters blowing 'warmish' air still. Well, this distracted me from the approaching speedbump and I bounced over it a little too fast.
BUT guess what? After I'd bounced over the bump I got a blast of nice hot air
I think the bump dislodged something that was partially clogging the matrix. I don't think it was an airlock.
I have since replaced 2 more hoses and re-bled.
Now the the bleeding procedure is spot on.
Bubbles end, stat opens, heater hot. Job done.
Also, I am now officially leakless. I have driven around for miles today. Temp stays pretty constant, heater stays hot.
I have to say the Bongo is driving really well now.
I'm still going to get all those outstanding hoses replaced when they arrive, but for the timebeing I think I'm eventually driving a normal Bongo
