Our Great Adventure..........
Hi All, Seen lots of posts on here from people about their adventures so thought id share Ours:
Weve just returned from three weeks in Portugal, having toured around the Algarve, Northern portugal and the West Coast.
We took the ferry from Portsmuth to Bilbao (Not one for the faint Hearted as we encounterd Storm Force 10 winds and 15 Meter seas). then Drove through Spain into Portugal and had a great three weeks.
Daily temperatures of 26.c and bright sunshine coupled with Fine food, and cheap beer and wine are a great way of forgetting the winter weve just had.
Our Van is a Freeda (Unconverted) so we spent some time on Camp Sites but we did some wild camping to and to see the beeches on the west Coast alone were worth the trip.
We visted, Almeida, Silves Sao Bras, Old Faro, Armaco De Pera, Pego De Alte before slowly plodding home back through Spain and France. and Freddie Frreda did us proud just as he always does!
Along the way we met some fantastic people including some fellow Bongoliers and our Children have gobe back to school with all sprts of storys to tell.
Sadly as with all Holidays they have to come to and end but if anyone ever fancys doing it id be happy to tell you about the places we went, as I couldt speak higly enough of them!
If I can do it anyone can so be brave and go for it! Bon Voyage to everyone on your travels!!
Bon voyag

Sounds like a great trip. It's what my brother in law wanted to do with us this Summer but we don't have long enough for such a distance so will enjoy your photos when you have the time. Feel free to write a longer account too - there's plenty on here who will enjoy reading it.

Re: Our Great Adventure..........
Nice one! Every time I've took the ferry to or back from Bilbao or Santander(pre-Bongo) it's been a force 10. The Bay of Biscay does boil up a storm.
Did you take the N11 back up through France? It is a nice journey at a leisurely pace. I was thinking of doing it the other way in the summer....when the Bongo is 100%

Re: Our Great Adventure..........
Lovely sounding trip - I'd love to do some long range travelling in my Bongo - its what they do best. Someone on here recently said they'd spotted a Bongo in Portugal (did they say it had surfing stickers - can't remember) - don't suppose that was you?
Look forward ot seeing pics (with Bongo/Freda in each one of course
