In dash DVD/TV with freeview??
Hi,
I have a Beat 725 in dash DVD/TV player, but since the analogue system is no longer i have purchased in car DVB T Freeview reciever to receive TV. I thought this would be simple enough as the player has Aux connections as does the receiver, but i have plugged it all in and have power to the receiver but the player does not seem to show anything on the AUX screen, does this mean the player just cant handle a freeview box or is their any other way around this problem.
Any ideas would be much appreciated,
Many Thanks
Will

Normally one for composite video (yellow), and Red/White for Left/Right audio.

Yes indeed, It has 3 cables yellow, white and red. Sound is red and white i believe video is yellow. These are all plugged in fine but nothing comes up on the aux mode, just a blue screen, no menu or nothing?

Whilst on the stereo's aux screen unplug the yellow video cable and see if it changes, if it does you are getting an input,
also try pressing the menu button on the remote of the dtv.
you wont really see anything until the freeview unit is receiving a signal but it should let you access the setup menu

Presumably, your freeview box, being a UK one, has a PAL-I. Is your beat unit set up to display another PAL standard on that AV input, or NTSC, SCEAM, etc? Is there a setup menu you can get into to check this?

You have got the handbrake cable connected ?

Ok, i will try this in a mo, thanks, all im getting at the moment is power to the box, but when it is powered you do get a crack through the speakers as if there is something going on on then some constant interfernce kinda noise which carries on until you turn the unit off. I will try the pal, sceam ntsc now.

Ok.
The beat unit does receive NTSC, SCEAM and PAL on the TV mode, but i am not sure for the aux channel as there are no real variables for the AUX setting. All i have is power to the freeview receiver and some interferance like noises comming through.
I really thought this would be simple!
Oh well!

Have you tried the freeview receiver on another monitor, like your house TV?
