Post by tezzer22 » Tue Apr 27, 2010 8:00 pm

hi , iv been having intermitant problems with my gearbox going into hold mode ie locked in a high gear this is rectefied by turning the ignition off and restarting then all is well again for a while , iv had the car pluged in to a fault reader but there was nothing , it has been sugested that the speedo chip can sometimes cause problems so i have decided to remove the chip for a while to see what happens , i have removed the chip but the speedo is not working at all now altho the van drives fine, is there something i should have refited when i removed the chip ?

It may sound daft but have you made sure that all the original wires have been properly rejoined to each other to make the circuit. I ask this as the wiring is thin to start with. :)
