Front wheel bearing
When going round a right-hand bend my Bongo gives a sound and feel like a front wheel bearing that needs replaced. Normally, I would jack up the front of the vehicle and spin the wheels to listen to the noise they give off and diagnose which one was faulty. However, as far as I can ascertain, this is not possible as the wheels are permanently engaged. Can anyone tell me if there is anyway to get round this problem?
Re: Front wheel bearing
You can spin the wheels (although not freely)if you jack complete front or back end up.

Re: Front wheel bearing
If the bearing is shot, you'll probably be able to rock the wheel.

Re: Front wheel bearing
The wheel bearing is not bad enough to allow movement when you try and rock it. No doubt if I wait a few months it will progress to that position.
May I therefore assume that it is not possible to freely spin the wheels so as to listen and diagnose a faulty bearing?

is it only turning right? Check the steering fluid is where it should be, you get a noise when it is low turning right.

Hi Bill,
Is your vehicle a 4WD,if so it could be a worn CV joint.
