When should the roof warning beep stop?

Post by sniperFM » Tue May 18, 2010 4:20 pm

Hi, probably a really dumb question but anyhow:
Could someone confirm exactly when the Roof Raising/raised beeper should sound?

The reason i ask is, is it correct that mine beeps when raising but then continues to beep until i disengage the ignition, is this correct or should it stop when the roof is raised fully?

If it is indeed correct and it will beep when the ignition is on, is there a way to disable it?

many thanks,

It should stop bleeping when the roof is fully raised, get someone to hold the button and give it a helping hand and see if it stops, it could be a faulty proximity switch or just the lifty pistony things( for the life of me can't remember the word) are weak

mine stops when at full height and that is how it should work

you can try lowering slightly and re raise it or give it a gental push to make sure it gains full height

It also helps if the top zip is undone. The fabric gets quite stiff when cold and I have found mine doesn't stop beeping sometimes - try it again, after a few minutes, and it stops 8)

OK, got it to stop, i followed the guide in one of the forum post about tweaking the micro-switches and its fixed it, one of them must have moved slightly over time and wasn't connecting correctly.

Thank god for that!..beeping was driving me mad!
Thanks for the help.
