Coolant alarm
I saw this on ebay and wondered if it was worth purchasing?
I know I should get one, but which one?

There seems to be a lot of places for that one to leak from, but you pays your money and makes your choice

Re: Coolant alarm
I don't think that one on ebay does a self test, so how do you know if it's working? Steer clear IMO, not heard of anyone fitting it & as John says, more joints more leak potential.

Thanks for the advice, think I am going to go with Haydn's alarm, as they seem to be the weapon of choice. £100 or so spent now could well save £100s later

Re: Coolant alarm
Hi,
I've just bought one of these to complement my Mason alarm. I've not installed it but it does come with lots of instructions and seems to be well made. I guess it doesnt have a self test, but I guess you still have to check your levels fairly often anyway and it should be easy enough to see if its working by disconnecting it. I'll let you know how I get on - though probably wont install for a couple of weeks when I've got all the components I need for my cooling system overhaul!
cheers,
Steve
