Hi All,
I'm still having problems sorting out my turbo problem.
The unit went 'bang' and its going to be a long wait to get it replaced at a garage.
I have sourced a 2nd hand unit, which is what was/is on offer at the garage.
I still can not find any information on how to diy.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction so I can suss out how its done and be able to decide if its worth having a go?
Cheers

if you have a spare i would swap it yourself. if you can wield a spanner and socketset with a slight degree of competancy it is a very easy job, just unbolt all the offending mountings and that heatshield and its quite straight forward. use plenty of plus gas on the bolts the night before starting to ease removal of the rusty nuts.

Bear in mind it's part of the cooling system, so you'll have to either clamp the coolant hoses or top up afterwards, either way it'll need to be bled properly, other than that, I can't see it being too complex - http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

turbo/exhaust manifold off.what a b*tch of a job.there is always one that wont budge or is gonna snap,i feel lucky there was two.
new mazda manifold gasket £11.00 plus vat and studs and some nuts ordered.
manifold needs/is getting skimmed as no1 was 1mm out and no8 was 0,5mm up and about to leak.
