The Bak-Rak I ordered from Wilmond Engineering, really good service thanks Paul, arrived in Portugal this week so I got on with the mods required to fit an 80Ltr box to it as the Bongo is a bit short on storage. Last item to be fitted was the lighting bar which with Rak in vertical position is horizontal but in load position the bar swings down to hang under it. All well until I plugged in the 7 pin connector when I found that using the trafficators results in the Bongo Beep inside and outside the van (left and right turn). Anybody else come across this if so how did you cure it?
Used a couple of Fact sheets to do Air Con/fan and fit coolant alarm, instructions were so clear it was like having someone beside you showing you how to do it. Thank you contributors for your help.

The beep is a legal requirement, you'll probably find it's in the light fitting rather than inside the bongo if you can hear it outside.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

I thought that you only needed an indicator lamp, maybe the law has changed but I've never has a beeper fitted. I'll have to check mine now, I've not towed with it yet.

Hi Kirsty, Nothing in light fitting except bulbs, I had to rewire the lighting board as it was wired Portuguese style not UK. I'm OK with electrics, the only difference now is that both sidelights are fed from one wire unlike UK where we feed them seperately. Will rewire them again when i get back to UK as I cannot get 7 core cable here. Cheers.

It's basically there to remind you that you've got a trailer or whatever, only supposed to be audible inside.

Yes some form of warning that "the trailor indicators are not working" is a legal requirement - it can be positive (only operates when the lights are NOT working) or negative (operates unless a light has failed) and a bleeper is usually fitted where the trailer wiring is plumbed into the vehicle wiring somewhere near one of the rear light clusters - so often very audible from both outside and inside.
