Exhaust advice pls bit confused!

Thought i would check with someone in the know before i order the wrong exhaust parts!

My Back box came off this weekend But i am fine with getting one of those as i think they are all the same ??, i also have a new flexi middle section in my garage so thought i would also change that while i am on, But.... i also checked the front down pipe and to be honest it doesn't look the best so i thought may also change this then it's all done.

My question is i have looked at the front down pipes on ebay and the net and they seem to have a square bracket one end at the front section and a diamond shape on the other to fit to the flexi middle, i have a triangle shape nearest the front of the van and a diamond shape to fit to the middle section, so a bit confused, could anyone tell me which part/s i need pls as i think the ones i might be looking at are not right for my van???.

Does it have the winterpack, ie 2 batteries as standard?

Hi Kirsty,

Sorry if i seem a little unsure but it does have two batteries but i believe the second is just an add on leisure battery.

What else would i have if it is a winter pack model?
That maybe easier for me to answer?

Switch by the drivers right knee with a symbol of an engine on it, or look at the exhaust form underneath compared to the diagram above & see if it looks like the one with the gubbins in.

Hi Kirsty,

I don't have a switch by my knee as you have mentioned (Is that the switch that people don't use in this climate just for the freezing parts of Japan?, i am pretty sure i don't have that small section of exhaust as on diagram as it looks like just one piece that starts from the front on my van.
The thing that is confusing me is if you look at the ones on eaby for instance they look like they have a sqaure fixing rather than a diamond shape, maybe it is so you can turn the exhaust to fit the diamond shape on the flexi?

If the whole exhaust is kaput......nip along to MIJ at Walsall and get a Stainless for not many more pennies than a standard Mazda.... Never worry about it again...

Looks like most of the ebay sellers sell it as two seperate sections as per the winterpack from what I can see, which explains the difference.

Thanks Mike for the details of the exhaust place in walsall, and also thanks Kirsty for having a look at the ebay ones i mentioned for the front, so basically it looks like the ones on ebay are not correct for my van then ??

Not sure, they may be ok if you buy the two bits, but you'd be better off finding the proper bit, the part no can be got from the lushprojects by clicking on the + sign on the left, seem to be 2 options for that part, not sure if they're basically the same or what? Any of the normal suspects should be able to sort you out, ie bongobits, bellhill, JAS, etc, or I'm sure someone'll be along who's had first hand experience of suppliers.

Go for the all in one stainless option and dump the tonne and half of useless ballast that is a standard back box - you'll only have to replace it again in a couple of years unlike the stainless one.

Hi Mike,

Really strange as i actually went to the wrong place to have my exhaust fitted today (it could have happened to anyone ), there was a Bongo on a ramp having one fitted (Mr Muz), the place i was booked into was literally just down the road at Midlands exhausts, reckon me and Muz are both pleased with our new purchases, the guy's who put mine on were really good so would recommend them
