Post by peanutcrusher » Wed May 26, 2010 9:33 pm

finding fuel under van, looking at the engin it looks like its wet around the head and round the fuel pump.
a friend of mine had a look at the van and he was the one who pointed out the wetness around the block, he said he thinks it might be the head that has gone or might be
were i run it on a cooking oil mix.

does anyone know if the cooking oil mix will make a difference to the van leaking?

oh i hope the heads not gone [-o< :(

There's a fact sheet in the members area on changing the fuel pump seals in situ, needn't be a big problem, Fuel leaking probably won't be the head. Or do a search on "fuel and pump and seals", loads of info.
Check it's not a leaky fuel hose, some of mine were looking decidedly iffy, they're supposed to be changed every 4 years according to service schedule. A metre of 6mm ID & a metre of 8mm ID should do them all incuding the ones on the top of the fuel tank.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
