HELP: Do I need a gasket when fitting exhaust back box

Post by mikeonb4c » Mon May 31, 2010 9:52 am

I fitted a new centre section a while back and had to buy one of those crushable metal gaskets forwhere that joined the front section, but I can't recall fitting one where it joined the back box. I presume I must have, but I can't see them listed on ebay etc. Anyone able to advise and/or point to a suitable cheap source, as I have to fit a new backbox soon? Also looking for new air filter and oil filter if anyone has a well priced vendor they use and can recommend.

Thanks chums 8)

Hi Mike you could give one of the bongo garages a call for some advice. I think I had new gaskets fitted when I had my centre section replaced (one at each end) give Discount trucks a call Fred the mechanic will be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks chums - I reckon it must need one. Probably phone Bongobits as usual (thanks for reminding me MM - I got fed up looking at their badly organised website but it looks as though they have finally got their act together as its MUCh improved now). Some of the ebay vendors seem cheaper though, and I've done OK with parts from there before so may explore that too
