Post by orcaman » Tue Jun 01, 2010 7:39 pm

Hi, could do with a bit of advise<
i am looking to by 98 plate Bongo 2.5TD 4x4, however on 2 of the vans i have driven so far both had problems with overheating resulting in the head gasket being replaced<
have i just been unlucky and choosen to test drive bongo's that have not been looked after, or is their a recuring problem with these engines?
if so do the petrol ones suffer the same?

thanks for your help

hi and welcome
if you pop your location in your profile peeps local to you might be able to help and also might be able to go along with you to look at bongo's

as for overheating if the head has gone it will cost upto £1500 to fix so stay away

the petrol dont seem to suffer as much as a diesel with this problem

there are some for sale on members section mainly from bongo fury members so they will have been looked after
I NOW HAVE AN ASTRA JUST THE BONGO TO FIND A NEW HOME THEN I AM OUT OF HERE
