Fan not working

Bled bongo and realised the rad fans are not coming on. Even when hose is too hot to touch.
Could this be the cause of my hose burst blues?
Disconnected what i think is the temp sensor under drivers seat at rear near ATF dip stick
and the fans kick in straight away.
What to do next?
At work now so will look for the words of the wise in the morning,

baz,what exactly has happened lately,i have seen 2 hose problems,has anything else happened,loosing coolant etc,have you had new stat in or anything.

First hose[top rad 15-183] burst in traffic jam after 130 miles of motorway,
new hose, bled return trip no prob water only.
Refilled 50/50 coolant bled went too southern softies no probs.
Took to Stoke 60 miles Motorway for underseal got back 2miles from home,
stuck in traffic temp guage shoots over coolant alarm goes off pull off in pub car park.
Puddle under motor green flag home.
Burst hose, Heater return to thermostat 61-214 from Mazda replaced, bled then realised
Fans not coming on, dont know when they stopped working.its been a cold winter.
Took this connector off and fans came on ,left it off for now.

try a new switch baz.part number
mazda mb59318840a £36'54 plus vat
you could also get a new temp sender
mazda mkl011851x £25 plus vat.
fit them and bleed up(you should be good at that now eh.
if your struggling im at the bash with some second hand bits for display purposes,you could try a quick swap job with one of them.
please use gen mazda bits,i have used other brands but???

Ordered stat and switch from mazda dealer and sender from bongobits just waiting arrival
hoses are more of a prob

Looks like a hose blockage to me. Immediate thought was thermostat, but in the middle of a 130km trip - unlikely. But I'd still be looking at the thermostat.

And don't forget my suggestion, that it is five times easier to bleed (and safer) using the the temp sensor port.

No it ain't in my opinion, tried it, still had to bleed it properly
How could the hose be blocked? I'd be very surprised, matrix or rad maybe.
Did it chuck coolant out when you opened the header cap? could be airlocked if you got pinholes/weeps (I've been dealing with them myself over the last few weeks ) That would cause the temp to rise & the fans not to come on, but get the sensor changed anyway & get a pressure test kit off Ady so you can check for those elusive weeps that cause all the problems.

it will be ok to run with the fans on as your local to the bash.my only fear is if there is something going on that you dont know about,ie air locked,or a heater blockage.
im afraid its your shout, whether you get it there or not.

I'm not suggesting you can leave the connector off the temp sensor forever more and run around happily knowing the fans may be keeping things cool enough baz... but i think in an emergency leaving the fans running would be a safer bet than leaving them off in your case. Initial thoughts? Airlock.

It's my opinion as I stated in the response, doesn't mean anyone has to listen or agree
As I said I tried it, with a warm engine/warm coolant it's impossible to get the sensor back in without the risk of scalding, it's a bloody fiddly location, even with my egr removed (which most people don't have). As I said it still had a load of air in afterwards - it didn't work for me, & as I said on the other thread, I can't see how it can properly - what more can I say? I'm all for new ideas if they work but if I try something & it doesn't work - I'll say so, I'm not miffed about anything thanks
One thing that concerns me about this method is that it's a fine thread & I reckon you do that a few times or cross thread it - you're in trouble, just my opinion, it's what forums are about

Must admit, I'd be concerned about airlock, if it is, fans won't do anything useful as the stat'll probably still be closed. Give it a bleed & check for leaks (ideally with a pressure test ) before driving anywhere, ain't worth the risk IMO.

When i bled it the bottom hose got nice and hot does that not indicate stat open?
Ive got to drive it somewhere for someone to have a look the bash seams as good a
place as any.
