CAN ANYBODY HELP WITH WIRING LOOM COLOUR CODE

Post by TINCA TINCA » Tue Jun 15, 2010 9:14 pm

Good evening

1996 SGL3. Need the wiring loom colours as our stereo is still not reinstated. We cannot stand the silence anymore. Anyone prepared to pull their radio and check this out for me please.

Thanks. :wink:

If you click this;

and then click the Image at the bottom, you will have the colour codes displayed and the connections and ISO plug pins.

What is the situation then ?
Do you just have the standard Mazda sockets and no ISO adaptor ?
Or have the Mazda connectors been removed ?

In a standard vehicle the wiring loom ends on the Mazda connectors, you then buy a Standard ISO adaptor from Halfords etc, and plug that into the Mazda connector, and the other end is the normal ISO standard that fits all third party add-on radios etc.
A typical one is here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAZDA-ISO-car-cd- ... 3ca93de16d

Very Good EARLY morning.

Some time back our Bing Bongo was broken into and the moron did not just unplug the radio HE THOUGHT HE WOULD CUT THE WIRES :shock: :shock: so we are now left with a load of wires taped up to stop them shorting out. This is Marjie's reply not Jim's so please excuse the lack of technical details.

You sound as though you are very aware of the technical side of our plight. Wonder if you could guide Jim through the connection.

Once again apologies if this does not make the sense you require. :wink:

Right I seemed to remember last night that someone had had the radio stripped out, commiserations.

This will have to be quick as we are just off to the bash, must leave by 09:00 ;-)

The best bet will be to buy / obtain an ISO connector with leads http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_prod ... rtno=PC308

These wires then need to be connected to the old wiring loom, using the diagram and colour codes above, its a quick job if you have the tools and knowledge, but it takes a little while longer if not :-(
