blown fuse-split charge relay

i have a split charge system fitted to the beast, its not a willington kit as it was fitted before i bought it,
however, since fitting my inverter yesterday, the 25amp fuse has blown, replaced said fuse and started wagon, same thing again...
i think the kit was fitted by ava lesuire as theres a sticker on the van and it appears that this is the only aftermarket accsessory fitted.
is there anything anyone can suggest?! obviously, i can try removing inverter and trying again, but at present it raining, and the football will be on soon.

The leisure battery must be discharged enough to require more than 25A to recharge it. Test that theory by charging the LB from the mains until fully charged and try again. The willinton kit is 70A

if i put a higher rated fuse in, just to charge it, would that work?, or should i buy a charger?

i've seen a dead flat leisure battery spike to over 50A initially, my advice would be to throw a jump lead from one positive to the other, similir to what you suggest.

i have put in a 30amp fuse, driven it for 50 odd miles today, got me a "ring" powering smart battery charger rated at 4amps, an it still says its flat, going to leave it on over night and see what it looks like tomorow. does anybody happen to know what the standard alternater chargers at?

Well the alternator is rated up to 90 amps I believe, but remember it will be charging two batteries. You should see several 10's of Amps for just a second or so, rapidly reducing to less than 10 Amps on a reasonably charged battery.

You should only fit ahigher rated fuse if you know the wiring is up to it of you'll eventually fry the wires!
