Afternoon all, have a problem with my speedo chip
its intermittant drops to zero reads nothing then on re start
works fine for weeks and off she goes again.How easy is it to change the chip and whare can i get one. or may be as some say
best to put a ma=zda 626 gauge in MMMM how easy is that
P.S based in central Scotland

If you can find one, the speedo you want is from a Mazda 626 of a certain vintage (IIRC 95-98?), and has GA5R printed on the face.
Straight swap for the Bongo one, but of course you'll have to remove the mod chip and re-connect the VSS wire (blue/white) to the speedo cluster.
Mine reads spot on.

626 job takes about 30 mins,direct swap job,you will have to remove the chip and restore the wiring to original spec though.i have standard(195 70 15inch)wheels on and the speedo is spot on to. the only problem i have found is the odmeter reading,some have had success winding the new head to read the equivalent (miles) from the old(kms) reading.
