Romantic 50th trip to Cae Du Wales

Well as it says its gonna be romantic. Me and hubby are off .....well if the van is fixed in time!!!! to wales on our own ...no kids..........no dogs..........no hook up..........for 5 nights to a little campsite i found on the net which looks peaceful and quiet on a farm overlooking Cardigan bay. This will be a bit like wild camping for us ...no tv,computer or the luxury of electric. We can even have a proper campfire so we are really looking forward to this. Apparently a lot of seals and dolphins are seen here so will make sure i get lots of pictures.The beach is private to the farm and although not sandy i just know its gonna be brilliant.
Will bore you with all the feed back from here when we have been which is in august.

my wife and i have been all over the uk camping,then came the kids,we ask them where they want to go every year,and every year its the same answer,back to the farm in wales.we also have found the idilic farm house 2 mins from the beach,we love it.
just need to get to the romantic stage now,im sure that will come one day!!

e is a link to the site via uk camping not many pics etc but the thought of the sunsets,dolphins and away from it all sounds great to me

Well Alison i wasnt planning on a mini meet but it appears my cover is blown lol
Maybe if anyone is interested in going I will be there from 6th august untill the 10th........so maybe we could get a few more Bongo's to come and try out a more laid back mini meet. Campfires burning!!!!

Thanks Barrington for the links you pm'd me....... Have done a bit of research on the area and will most deffo be doing a Dolphin spotting boat trip from New Quay. There are about 150 -300 reident dolphins in Cardigan Bay I read somewhere on the net plus plenty of seals and if very lucky we may see one of these chaps

Quite a few of these turn up in the bays of Wales and an interesting fact is that they swim 5000 miles to get there(usually following the jellyfish for feeding on) and then go all the way back to South America to have their babies.
See people and animals will travel miles to get to Wales!!!!

The missing ingredient here is a shared enthusiasm with Muz for pyromania, except that Muz has got a bigger axe than me? This camp site allows camp fires

Firewood at £5 per bundle (half a barrow load)

It's a good site, facilities a basic, access to the site is tight but bongo friendly.

The site slopes! So bring wedges/ramps

It's on a cliff edge with paths down to a stoney/pebble beach.

It's run by a farmer and his family.


Surf looks ok for body boards for kids.


We had a nice weekend there.

Nearest supermarket is Tywyn and Pippin is the local resident
