if they did does that establish the link between temp readings and the ecu control?
Hi Ady
I think (believe quite strongly) that the fans are ECU controlled via the temperature sensor. Waiting for absolute confirmation from James - (ECU code breaker General) Not heared from him lately :( Anyone else?

Pretty sure the temp sender on the top hose has nowt to do with the fans, but we do keep getting new stuff being thrown up

Getting confused a bit Kirsty. Sensor on top hose? I was refering to the one that is fixed in the head. It is getting a bit on the hot side and I tend to do strange things when its hot  I almost sure one of the senders kicks in the fans via the ECU (from manual - ECU section)
Working on sons computer and it is absolutely nads.

Right again Kirsty, the forward temperature sensor has absolutely nothing
to do with anything else other than the Mazda temperature gauge.

Another reason for going back home is ................its too bloody hot darn sarf
I should have recognised the symptoms - one of which was questioning Kirsty.

Steve you're right that the 2 pin sensor above the rear heater hose in the block triggers the fan/s via the ecu, but the point this bit of the discussion originated from was a blip on Baz's temp gauge which is fed from the sensor on the top hose & had to have it's wire extended as it was tight enough for Seasick Steve to have played a Glastonbury set on  Confused yet?

Been looking at the Workshop manual..... yes a little too much time on my hands just know.....or rather it's warmish here in the East Angles and reading it while drinking Pastis....
Anyhow..... tend to agree with you Steve on the fans trigger but I have a little more reading to do....... interesting (I think....if the Pastis didn't cloud the eyesight.... ......) I found a means to test the Fans operation.... :-k better wait till I get back from Peterborough later on....when the sun is hot..... and no Pastis is on the table...

Not really Mike  Just got some new software and testing/learning it. Trying to produce the fact sheet with graphcs, but not got the thing right yet. Posted that to see what it would look like. Too jerky, but I can fix that with a bit of effort.
