Low coolant alarm - Switched ignition

Post by springbok » Wed Jul 14, 2010 7:59 pm

Hi,
Haydn is on holiday I believe, so I thought I ask the Bongo masses :D
I am going to attempt fitting one of Haydyn's LCA's on Thursday or Friday before we go go camping this weekend.

The instructions suggest using the front ciggy lighter socket for the positive power, unless it is permanently live.
We have a Willington kit, so the ciggy socket is on the LB and hence permanently live.

Can anyone shed any light on another place to tap off an ignition switched power source.
I am thinking of locating the alarm in a spare lower switch blank, near the fuse box.
Must be a good spot to tap off around the fuse box?

Any help greatfully received.

Thanks,

Grahame.

If you've got the willinton kit fitted, with the connections in the lower fuse connection to supply the relavant circuits, then you'll have a few spare ignition switched connections on the top fuse connections that are not now being used
Just make up a connector by trimming down a spade connector or cutting a leg off a c type connector & plug it in one of the spare top ignition switched connections, making sure to put a fuse in line of course.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
