North of the country here we come

Post by RachelTaylor » Thu Jul 15, 2010 9:43 pm

Just an advance warning - we are heading northwards up the M6 on saturday. Not sure where we're heading other than north and generally being free-spirits 8)
couple of weeks travelling around, with our only fixed destination being Fife to visit friends around the 23rd-25th.

we'll keep an eye out as always for friendly bongos!

And don't get caught out buying diesel at Tebay services, 126.9 , where at Gretna beside the motorway it was 118.9!
When asked about Western Civilisation, Ghandi said 'that would be a good idea'...

If you are bringing mountain bikes with you head for the Glentress Forrest near Peebles and call in on Dunslair and me.

That's where my Jeep broke Down two weeks ago after being stuck for an hour and a half in a massive traffic jam.

we were going to bring our mountain bikes, but my husbands bike needs some new gears, and he's injured his knees so struggles with biking at the moment. I'm also doing lots of training at the moment ready for biking london-paris in september, so have decided to have a couple of weeks off - not sure if that's a wise move or not at the moment, time will tell!
so, short response is we won't have our bikes with us - if we're desperate to get free-wheeling we figured we could always hire some.

hopefully will be doing some walking though, so will keep an eye out at a slower pace!

suppose I'd better get off the laptop & sofa, and get packing
