Battery ? Last minute panic

Post by lorraine9 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 8:01 pm

As we are due to have our first trip at the weekend, we panicked after finding the battery flat this morning

We have the original two cold start batteries ( together with the leisure battery for the factory fitted kitchen )

We removed the battery in front of the driver and are now thinking about buying a good, all singing, all dancing type like a land rover one suggested here.

Now, our worry is, will this new battery play nicely with the other original one ?
I don't want them falling out and draining each other or something annoying on our trip. Your input and ideas will be gratefully received.. thank you,

Without getting the batteries tested, it's anyone's guess :? If both batteries are duff, the bad one will drain any new battery you fit. However, if you are getting a larger battery, you can remove the one on the passenger side - not forgetting to insulate the positive terminal well, to prevent shorting.

I now have an excellent 95ah Bosch S4 starter battery which has cured all sorts of other niggles at the same time. Primary benefit being vastly improved headlight performance compared to the tired 70ah it replaced.
