Green dot dust free brake pads

Post by gasace » Sun Aug 01, 2010 5:49 pm

I was cleaning the alloy wheels on the Bongo when my neighbour started talking to me, he works in a tyre and brake garage, he told me that brake pads with green dots are meant to be dust free. Thinking about it the wheels don't get very dirty, so he may well be right. Does anyone know about these brakes? and if so are they much more expensive than the normal ones? I am the first UK owner so the pads must have been fitted in Japan, the dealer didn't say he had fitted new brakes, and I haven't had it long enough to need them.

Hi gasace,

He probably meant low dust,it would be very hard and expensive to get dust free pads.

I know EBC do "Greenstuff" pads http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/car/info.asp not sure if they do them for the bongo, had enough trouble getting the part numbers verified when I got the EBC ultimax pads, now they're everywhere, may be worth asking about the Greenstuff pads?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
